Oak Forest Community Garden
Oak Forest Community Garden is dedicated to providing residents with a space to grow their own food and connect, learn, and participate in sustainable urban gardening.
Our Mission
Our mission at Oak Forest Community Garden is to provide the community with opportunities to grow their own fresh produce, benefit from a local farmers’ market each Saturday from May-Oct., and to provide education and outreach for kids, adults and everyone in between.
We pride ourselves in our access to quality local produce and supporting the development of urban teaching gardens.
Over 30 Raised Beds
Oak Forest Community Garden provides just over 30 raised beds for rental by community members ($30 for one bed for the calendar year). Active members are able to grow their own produce and participate in educational and community events that take place at the garden.
Organic Focus
The members and volunteers at Oak Forest Community Garden pride themselves in trying to adhere to organic growing principles. The use of inorganic herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides is highly discouraged.
